Summary:
The Release of Information Clerk provides information to authorized representatives when requested in writing.
SUPERVISORY
Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:
The Duties and Responsibilities reflect the general details considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job and shall not be construed as a detailed description of all related work assignments that may be inherent to the job.
Sort, open, review and release requests according to HIPAA, Florida Statutes, and PPBHC policies and procedures.
Returns non-compliant requests to the requestor with authorization requirements.
Responds to all release of information requests:
walk-ins, mail, telephone, website, and faxes according to policies.
Analyze requests and authorizations for compliance:
worker's comp.
, legal, social, security determination, continuity of care, patient and insurance verification.
Prioritize and process all telephone and fax requests for continuity of care quickly and accurately.
Log and fulfill all requests according to HIC procedures.
Maintain a professional and courteous attitude when interacting with internal and external customers via telephone and in person.
Pull and file charts from active and storage areas as needed.
Scan documents to client's records.
Perform other duties as required by Supervisor.
CORE COMPETENCIES (Hourly):
Knowledge and adherence of all Federal and State requirements pertaining to Medical Records and confidentiality.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret terminology related to behavioral and medical concepts.
Ability to utilize and navigate an electronic health record, and Microsoft office software.
Maturity and sensitivity to the special needs of PPBH clients while possessing the knowledge of behavioral health and medical conditions.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND/OR
Experience:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

The individual must have received a high school diploma or GED or one year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education using computers and having clerical experience.
Individual must have ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with clients, in staffing meetings, and with supervisors.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Must have Intermediate to advanced experience in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), the use of personal computers, and standard office productivity software.
REQUIREMENTS:
A valid Class E Drivers' License for positions that require driving personal or Agency vehicle on Agency business.
Must maintain a minimum Bodily Injury & Property Liability insurance limit of at least $50,000 for positions that require driving personal own vehicle (POV) on Agency business.
(Proof Required) PPBH is a 24/7 Agency.
All employees must be available as needed when required.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
