This regional medical center in Central Florida near Orlando is seeking a fellowship trained, board certified Internal Medicine physician to serve as Residency Associate Program Director. The new Associate Director will be based at the Regional Medical Center to direct the administrative and educational operations of this residency.
ACGME qualifications of the associate program director is as follows:
o Must be a clinician with broad knowledge of, experience with, and commitment to internal medicine as a discipline, patient centered care, and to the generalist training of residents.
o Must hold current certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in either internal medicine or a subspecialty.
o Must dedicate an average of at least 20 hours per week to the administrative and educational aspects of the Internal Medicine Residency.
Our ideal candidate would be someone that meets the above and:
o Has a minimum of 3 years of experience as a core teaching faculty or subspecialty clinical education coordinator of an ACGME Internal Medicine Residency.
o Has produced works of scholarly activities as evidenced by peer-reviewed funding or by publication of original research in a peer-reviewed journal, review articles, textbook chapters or presentations at local, regional, or national professional and scientific society meetings.
o Board certification in Neurology on Endocrinology would be a plus as we have a need for additional physicians in these specialties.
