Analyst, Sales and Use Tax

The Analyst, Sales and Use Tax must demonstrate the ability to timely and accurately prepare sales and use tax returns and related payments in accordance with a tax calendar. This position will be responsible for generating necessary reports for preparation of sales and use tax returns, analyzing and reconciling monthly activity, inputting data into 3rd party tax reporting tools and executing payments. The ideal candidate will keep abreast of tax law developments and communicate to team members any impact to their business unit responsibilities. The position requires a strong willingness and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Strong business process improvement and system experience is also a must.

Prepare returns and related payments in accordance with a tax calendar. Generate and analyze necessary reports for preparation of sales and use tax returns for assigned business area(s). Reconcile sales and use tax activity to the general leger Analyze and audit tax account activity and communicate any issues with appropriate team members Educate business area personnel on corrective procedures when identifying tax errors Support Front-of-House, SAP and Vertex interfaces to ensure sales and use tax is being properly reported in SAP Participate in audit field work and respond to information requests from auditors as assigned Maintain and enhance knowledge of law and developments that affect assigned business area(s). Special projects as assigned
Minimum 2-3 years related work experience
SAP and Vertex Sales Tax Returns software a plus
Superior Microsoft Excel skills
Demonstrated ability to build relationships with external and internal partners

Excellent written and oral communication skills
Broad sales and use tax compliance experience
Large scale sales and use tax compliance experience
Passion to work in a dynamic and complex financial systems and sales/use tax environment
Minimum of 2-3 years of working with SAP and Vertex (or related third-party tax automation system)
Self-starter that takes a hands on approach
Additional Qualifications
Public Accounting and/or experience in a large, complex corporate environment

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
